Hello Lori:
I'm not sure if you remember me... I took a drawing and painting class with you at Emily Carr. At that time in 2003, I quit my corporate job and was pursuing a career as an artist. Well, five years later, I'm still at it. I remember you being very encouraging and that had pushed me to where I am today. I am now living in Toronto. After leaving Vancouver, I enrolled in an atelier and studied to strengthen my drawing skills. In the beginning of 2007 I left the school and taught myself to paint. The response to my work has been very positive. If you're interested, you can view my work at www.minadelacruz.com.
It has been a tremendous year for me but this would not have been possible without the strong influences that contributed to my success.
Although my interaction with you was but for a couple of semesters, I felt that your encouragements have been instrumental. Thank you.
Yours truly, Mina dela Cruz

"Mentoring/ critique session - I recently had the
pleasure of attending a mentoring session with Lori Goldberg.
I had taken a workshop with her in the past and was grateful
to have this opportunity. I brought some of my recent paintings
and my portfolio to Lori's studio. Lori helped me to identify
my style and where my strengths were. What I came away with
was a renewed sense of confidence in my abilities and a direction
on where to focus my energies in the future. I have since
started a new series as she had suggested and am very excited
about some of the suggestions Lori made that might bring out
some of the outcomes I have been trying to achieve. I have
also submitted my portfolio to a gallery that I am hopeful
might represent me.
I look forward to following up with Lori with another mentoring
session in the future to review my progress." Sharleen
